Government is serious about the cleanliness system of Gurugram : Corporation officials are not serious about the cleanliness system, especially drain cleaning. It would be better if the officials change their working style. Union Minister of State Rao Indrajit Singh, angry with the cleanliness system of the city, reprimanded the officials on Tuesday. The Union Minister of State was reviewing the development works of the city with administrative officials in the meeting hall of PWD Rest House.
During this, he also reviewed various development works related to the city, cleanliness system and arrangements being made for waterlogging during the rainy season. The Union Minister also sought a report on the development works being done in the district from GMDA CEO A Srinivas, Municipal Corporation Gurugram Commissioner Dr. Narhari Singh Bangar and DC Nishant Kumar Yadav. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Chandra Bidhan was also present in the meeting.
Addressing the review meeting, the Union Minister said that Gurugram is a global city. In such a situation, while providing a clean environment to the people living in the urban area, serious efforts should be made at the level of the officials to ensure the solution of garbage and waterlogging. He instructed to pick up garbage from the busiest areas of the city in a timely manner. Along with this, he instructed to prepare an action plan to improve the sanitation system and sewer system of the extended areas and complete it soon.
Improve the sanitation system at all costs
The Union Minister directed all the officials to visit their zones and identify all possible garbage sites and eliminate them. He expressed dissatisfaction over the sanitation system, especially the cleaning of drains. He instructed the Municipal Corporation officials to improve the sanitation system at all costs.
He told the GMDA officials that permanent or temporary obstructions affecting the drainage system should be removed. Such obstructions which cause blockage of drains and cause waterlogging should be removed immediately. Also, those who dump garbage in drains should be dealt with strictly.
Report sought on construction of sports complex
The Union Minister also sought a report on the progress of GMDA’s plan to put treated sewerage water in Damdama lake through pipeline and construction of sports complex in village Wazirabad. On this, the concerned officials said that the villagers are angry about treated water in Damdama lake. The Union Minister directed DC Nishant Kumar Yadav to talk to the villagers and find a solution to this.
While giving information related to the progress of the sports complex, the officials said that the work order for the construction of this sports complex to be built on 11 acres at a cost of about Rs 88 crore has been issued. Work will start on the ground soon. He has also talked about holding a review meeting of the work to be done by the administration soon.
