Gurugram news: To ensure door-to-door garbage collection from the city, the Municipal Corporation has planned to collect garbage through e-rickshaws. For this, in the first phase, the corporation will buy 100 e-rickshaws. The agency that collects garbage from every house has deployed more than 300 vehicles to collect garbage from houses. The corporation has also asked the agency to buy e-rickshaws.
The corporation had canceled the contract of Eco Green Company, which collects garbage from houses. After this, the situation regarding cleanliness in the city has deteriorated completely. The corporation has handed over the work of collecting garbage from every house to Vimalraj Agency. To ensure door-to-door garbage collection from the entire city, the Municipal Corporation is purchasing 100 e-rickshaws. Whereas, more than 200 e-rickshaws will be purchased by a private agency.
In this, the agency will help the corporation on insurance and finance related needs. In this regard, instructions have been issued to the agency by the corporation. According to corporation officials, e-rickshaws will be able to easily reach the houses and collect garbage. One ton of garbage can be collected in one e-rickshaw.
