On April 20, 2026, a man and woman were arrested at Bristol Chowk in Cyber City, Gurugram for creating a public disturbance while under the influence of alcohol. The individuals have been identified as Riya Kumar alias Riya from Dinajpur, West Bengal (currently residing in Wazirabad, Gurugram) and Rohit Kumar alias Rohit from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan (currently residing in Chakarpur, Gurugram).
A video showing the couple fighting on the streets, exchanging verbal abuse, and disrupting public peace went viral on social media on April 20. Upon noticing the viral content, the DLF Phase-1 police station team immediately identified the location and identity of the accused. The police team promptly apprehended both individuals and initiated preventive action under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to police questioning, the couple knew each other and were under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. An argument over a past matter escalated into physical altercation and public disturbance. Gurugram Police has warned that such behavior will not be tolerated, and authorities will continue to monitor social media to take strict action against offenders.
