Manesar, Haryana – 2 May 2026: The Nagar Nigam Manesar has embarked on a new chapter of urban development by laying the foundation stone for the city’s first Model Road. The ceremony was conducted by Mayor Dr. Indrajeet Kaur Yadav in Ward 19 on Friday.
The project stretches approximately one kilometre from Jaisinh Chowk to Swastik Store. The municipal corporation has allocated a budget of ₹3 crore 66 lakh for the construction, with a target to complete the work within the next six months.
Key Features Planned for the Model Road
- Smart Drainage: Paved drains on both sides of the road will eliminate water‑logging issues.
- Footpaths and Benches: Wide footpaths for pedestrians, equipped with benches at regular intervals for rest.
- High‑Tech Security: CCTV cameras will be installed along the entire stretch to aid crime control and traffic monitoring.
- Lighting and Greenery: Decorative lighting and a dedicated green belt will enhance visual appeal.
- Uninterrupted Travel: The road will be built without any mid‑segment cuts, ensuring smooth vehicle flow and reduced accident risk.
During the inauguration, Mayor Dr. Indrajeet Kaur Yadav performed the traditional coconut‑breaking ritual to mark the official start of work. Ward 19 councilor Ravi Yadav was also present.
In a firm statement, the Mayor said, “This is our first Model Road project and we will not compromise on quality. The construction agency has been instructed to complete the work within the stipulated time frame using top‑grade materials.”
The new road is expected to provide modern amenities not only to residents of Ward 19 but also to set a developmental benchmark for the entire Manesar region.
