Gurugram Property Update: Virat gave this big responsibility to his brother, created a stir on social media

Virat Kohli has been away from cricketing action since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Kohli had also announced his retirement from Test cricket, which prevented him from being part of the England tour.

The Indian team is on a tour of Australia, where they will play three ODIs and five T20 Internationals against the hosts, starting October 19th. All eyes will be on veteran batsman Virat Kohli during the ODI series. Kohli will be playing for the Indian team for the first time since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Virat Kohli arrived in Gurugram, Haryana, before departing for Australia. Later, Kohli also visited Wazirabaz, Gurugram, where he transferred the GPA of his Gurugram property to his brother, Vikas Kohli. However, some people began spreading rumors that Kohli had transferred the property to his brother, which is not true. Kohli owns a property in DLF City Phase 1, Gurugram, valued at ₹80 crore.

Virat Kohli only transferred the legal rights related to the Gurugram property to his brother. He did not transfer the property to Vikas Kohli. Now, Virat Kohli’s brother, Vikas Kohli, has responded to these reports. He appeared to be very upset with those spreading fake news. Vikas said that some people have a lot of time to do this.

What did Vikas Kohli say?
Vikas Kohli shared a special post on his Instagram story. Vikas wrote, “I’m not surprised by how much fake news and misinformation is being spread these days. Some people are so free that they have plenty of time to do this. Best wishes to you all.”

Virat Kohli now lives mostly in London with his family, which is why he decided to transfer the legal rights related to his Gurugram property to his brother. A GPA (General Power of Attorney) is a legal document through which a person (also known as the principal) authorizes another person (called the agent or attorney holder) to handle legal or financial matters on his behalf.

Virat Kohli retired from the shortest format of international cricket after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup last year. Then, this year, King Kohli also retired from Test cricket. Now, after retiring from T20 International and Test cricket, Kohli is eligible to play for India only in the ODI format.

Virat Kohli has played 550 matches for the Indian team, scoring 27,599 runs at an average of 52.27. The 36-year-old Kohli has scored 82 centuries and 143 half-centuries in international cricket.
