After viral fever, eye problems have started increasing due to fluctuations in temperature. Patients suffering from conjunctivitis (eye infection) and dryness are reaching the civil hospital. Problems like redness and dryness in the eyes have also increased in the patients. Apart from this, diarrhea patients are also coming to the hospital these days.
On Thursday morning itself, patients started gathering in large numbers. Lines of patients started forming from the prescription counter to the medicine counter and outside the doctors’ rooms. Around 2480 patients got themselves examined in the OPD.
In this, 210 in Pediatrics Department, 320 in Medicine Department, 200 in Orthopedics Department, 180 in Dermatology Department, 200 in ENT, 180 in Ophthalmology Department and more than 250 pregnant women came for examination in Gynecology Department.
Why is the problem of dryness in eyes increasing?
Ophthalmologist Dr. Shubha Bansal said that the virus remains active in this season. Which, when mixed with dust particles, causes harm to the eyes. The cases of conjunctivitis start increasing during summer. Children are most affected by this disease.
Eyes start itching due to prolonged exposure to sunlight. After which when the eye is rubbed it turns red. Watering starts coming out from the eyes. He said that the problem of dryness in eyes has also increased. Because to protect from the heat, people are running fans and ACs all the time, which are sucking the moisture from the eyes. Dryness in the eyes can also cause vision problems.
Three to four serious patients are being admitted daily
These days, the number of diarrhea patients in pediatrician and medicine rooms is also increasing. In such a situation, three to four serious patients are being admitted every day.
