Gurugram news: The police have arrested nine people for threatening people by making them obscene and posting the victim’s photo on the internet media if they fail to repay the loan after giving it to people through an online app. Cyber Police Station West, acting after a complaint, arrested everyone from Udyog Vihar. All of them were residents of Delhi, Gurugram, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh etc.
An extortion gang has been busted for giving loans to people through online apps and threatening to upload the victim’s photo in obscene form on internet media if they fail to repay it.
Cyber Police Station West, acting after a complaint, arrested nine accused of the gang from Udyog Vihar. Of these, one accused is from Sirsa, one from Delhi, one from Gurugram, two from Bihar, two from Uttar Pradesh, one from Rajasthan and one from Jharkhand.
Blackmailed with obscene photos for not repaying loan
ACP Cyber Crime Priyanshu Diwan said that on April 3, a woman had given a complaint in the Cyber Police Station West that she had taken a loan of three thousand rupees from the online app Finsara. Due to not being able to repay the loan on time, the people running the loan app harassed him by posting obscene pictures on Facebook and repeatedly posting objectionable photos on WhatsApp.
Threatened to make photo viral if money is not paid
Threatened to send photos to family members if money was not paid. After registering the case, the police station took action and arrested nine accused on Wednesday night. They have been identified as Gaurav Wadhwa, resident of Sirsa, Rahul Jain, resident of Dwarka, Delhi, Rohan Palha, resident of Sector 54, Gurugram, Rohit, resident of Darbhanga, Bihar, Vivek, resident of Chapra, Brijendra Singh, resident of Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, Avnish Giri, resident of Azamgarh, Pawan, resident of Alwar, Rajasthan. Kumar and was identified as Shishu Kumar, resident of Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that Rohan, Gaurav and Rahul are the owners of loan giving app Finsara. He had maintained his office in Udyog Vihar. Rohit Kumar is the manager, Brijendra Singh and Pawan Kumar are the team leaders and Avnish Giri, Shishu Kumar and Ritesh are the recovery agents.
Used to provide loans through app
They give loans to people through loan apps. Other people are hired for loan recovery, who extort money by forging the victim’s photo and threatening to send it to the internet media and his family members if the loan is not repaid. For this, team leaders get Rs 25 thousand per month and recovery agents get Rs 14 thousand per month. Eight mobile phones have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
