The corporation is preparing a plan to improve these roads at a cost of about Rs 50 crore. After the approval of the estimate of more than 5 sectors and colonies, their tender process has also been started.
Let us tell you that last year, the code of conduct was imposed for the assembly elections in the months of July, August and September. After this, the corporation officials started making estimates and started the tender process for some, but after this the winter season started. Due to this, the road work could not start due to the temperature not being favorable. After this, on February 4, the Election Commission imposed the code of conduct for the municipal corporation elections.
Work will start in these sectors this month
Sector-23, Sector-23A, Sector-21, Sector-41, Sector-42, 45, Malibu Town, Greenwood City, colonies included in the corporation Prakashpuri Zone, tiles in Pataudi Road Village Gadauli, tiles in Saraswati Enclave, RCC road will be built in Village Dhumaspur and Naharpur Rupa. The corporation has started the tender process for all these. Corporation officials claim that the work of beautifying the roads will start in all these areas from next month.
The situation is bad in these areas
The roads of the colonies of the old city including Sector-4-7, 5, 9, 9A, 10, 10A, 15, 37, 39, 40, 45, 46, 47, 55, 56, 57 have become dilapidated. The layer of internal and dividing roads of Sector-82, 83, 84, 85, 86 to Sector-95 has been peeled off. These roads come under GMDA. There are potholes on the entire road due to the road construction being in limbo from Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Gadoli village. The road from CPR of Dwarka Expressway towards Sector-86 Sati Chowk has become dilapidated due to waterlogging in monsoon. Only the internal roads of the colonies and sectors of the city come under the purview of the corporation. Due to lack of repair, the condition of the roads outside the colonies is very bad.
Manoj Yadav, Chief Engineer, Gurugram Municipal Corporation said, “The corporation has started work on the construction and repair of roads in sectors and colonies under the corporation’s jurisdiction. The roads will be repaired in two months.”
