Revanth Reddy Heads to Delhi for NITI Aayog Meeting

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy departed for Delhi on Wednesday night to participate in a NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. His visit aims to discuss Telangana’s share of tax devolution, central funds, and project funding, emphasizing cooperative federalism.

The chief minister is also expected to address the Congress high command regarding the ongoing controversy involving AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. Her Rajya Sabha nomination was rejected in Madhya Pradesh, and Revanth’s recent ‘Hitler-inspired HYDRAA’ remark has drawn criticism within the party. HYDRAA is the agency handling encroachment clearance and water body protection in Telangana.

Sources indicate Revanth may brief AICC leaders on the court case against Meenakshi, which led to her nomination rejection. He could also explain his statement linking Hitler’s ‘HYDRA’ assassin team to the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency. This remark has sparked discomfort as the Congress accuses the BJP of fascist policies.

A senior Congress leader claimed the woman who filed a complaint against Meenakshi might have shared information with BJP leaders via WhatsApp. The complainant, a Congress member from Mahbubnagar, alleged that Meenakshi failed to act against her. However, no Congress leader has officially confirmed these claims.

Additionally, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud joined Revanth in Delhi after AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge called a meeting of PCC presidents and state in-charges. Goud is set to update the leadership on the Meenakshi issue and the woman’s complaint.

The meeting will focus on strengthening the Congress party and preserving relations with INDIA bloc partners, as reports suggest strains within the alliance, including DMK’s distancing and TMC MPs shifting to the BJP. With the monsoon session of Parliament nearing, the AICC aims to expand support for BJP’s proposed women’s reservation and delimitation bills.
