While exposing the matter on Thursday afternoon, ACP Crime Varun Dahiya said that on Monday evening, the police station had received information about the death of the child from Kalyani Hospital. After this, the child’s father Arvind, resident of Malikpur village of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, had filed a case in the police station. On suspicion, the police took the accused woman Poonam into custody and interrogated her.
Crime Branch says
The crime branch on Thursday busted the case of murder of an eight-year-old only son in Sirhaul village of Sector 17/18 police station area. Crime Branch says that the accused mother told during interrogation that when the child came from school, his clothes were dirty and he had also lost two books, hence she got angry and strangled him to death.
However, this theory of the police and the statement of the mother are not acceptable, that too when the accused woman changed her statement several times during police interrogation for two days. After the death of the child on Monday afternoon, suspicion was raised that the child was murdered over a love affair. The police also kept interrogating him for two days regarding this.
