The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a weather warning for Delhi‑NCR and adjoining regions, indicating the likelihood of thunderstorm, hail, and gusty winds up to 13 June 2026. The alert, released on 11 June 2026 at 09:42 IST, comes as a western disturbance moves into the northwest part of the country.

According to the IMD statement, “Under the influence of western disturbance, wet spell likely over northwest India till 13th with possibility of thunderstorm with gusty winds (50‑60 kmph) & hailstorm on 11th & 12th June, 2026.”

Earlier this week, Delhi‑NCR had experienced rainfall after a prolonged period of high temperatures. The department now forecasts that precipitation activity will expand across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan between 10 June and 14 June.

The IMD has also highlighted that a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from 11 June onwards, potentially bringing widespread changes in weather conditions across the area.

Residents in the affected states are advised to stay updated with local weather forecasts and take necessary precautions against potential thunderstorms and hail.
