Gurugram employees at Vision Rx Lab in Sector 34 began a strike early Monday, halting operations and protesting for higher wages.

The workers, who manufacture lenses for eyeglasses, announced a stoppage in the morning and organized a demonstration outside the plant. The protest resulted in an immediate halt of all work at the facility.

Employees have demanded that staff who have worked for 2, 5, or 10 years be paid minimum salaries based on their semi‑skilled, skilled, and high‑skilled classifications. They also insist on fixing salary increments at 10 %.

Earlier in the month, several companies in Gurugram’s Mansar area had staged protests, prompting the Haryana government to announce an increase in minimum wages for non‑skilled, semi‑skilled, and skilled workers. Despite these changes, workers at Vision Rx Lab continue to express dissatisfaction.

A company representative stated that salaries are already paid according to the government‑determined minimum wage. The exact reasons behind the current protest remain under investigation.
