Gurugram. With the formation of Global City, the picture of Gurugram as well as the state will change.
The work of Global City, to be developed on about one thousand acres of land between NPR (National Peripheral Road) and CPR (Southern Peripheral Road), is being progressed rapidly.
There is a possibility of investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in this project.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal said this at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Flipkart’s regional distribution center in Manesar on Friday. In the program itself, a grocery fulfillment center was also inaugurated in Sonipat through virtual medium. To be built on 140 acres in Manesar with an investment of Rs 1389 crore, it will be Asia’s largest distribution center. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala was also present in the program.
The Chief Minister said that the Global City to be developed in the district will be a new chapter in the development of the area. Due to which lakhs of employment opportunities will be created not only in NCR but in the entire state. This will emerge a new picture of the area.
He said that Haryana is emerging as a manufacturing hub. Considering this favorable environment, Flipkart has made such a big investment here. Warehousing and transport hub is being set up by Flipkart on 285 acres of land. Out of this, this regional distribution center, to be built on 140 acres of land with an investment of Rs 1389 crore, will be the largest distribution center in Asia.
This will provide employment to 10 thousand people. Similarly, about 2 thousand employment opportunities will be created through Flipkart’s new grocery fulfillment center in Sonipat. Thousands of local vendors from the area, MSMEs and farmers will have access to the markets of the entire country. Local MLA Satya Prakash Jaravata and administrative officials were present in the program.
