The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has rolled out a round-the-clock complaint redressal system to tackle monsoon-related issues like water logging. Available on 1800-180-1817 and 0124-2653908, the helpline operates 24×7 during the monsoon season. Citizens can also register complaints via WhatsApp at 7840001817 by sending photos or through email at services.gmda@gmail.com.
Water logging has been a recurring problem in Gurugram during heavy rains. Existing drainage and infrastructure often fail to cope, leaving residents stranded in flooded areas. The new helpline directly connects complainants to central teams and field staff. Calls are immediately forwarded to relevant departments for swift action.
GMDA’s Chief Executive Officer P.C. Meena stated that the integrated system ensures “real-time monitoring” and smoother coordination between departments. Residents can even send missed calls to 9873353224, prompting a callback to log their complaint. This setup, he said, eliminates barriers to reporting civic issues.
The system covers services like potable water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, roads, cleanliness, and solid waste management. It also integrates with municipal bodies like Gurugram Nagar Nigam and Municipal Council Maneasar. All complaints are tracked for timely redressal, ensuring better service delivery.
Notably, the initiative focuses on immediate resolution rather than prolonged bureaucratic delays. Once registered, complaints are routed directly to field teams, enabling them to act within hours. This is a shift from earlier systems where grievances took days to reach the right department.
The GMDA portal services.gmda.gov.in and My Gurugram App offer digital alternatives for tech-savvy users. Officials claim this multi-channel approach makes it easier for everyone to report issues. Whether you call, text, or log online, help reaches you fast.
