Gurugram news: Development work worth Rs 5000 crore will now pick up pace in Gurugram. Some of the pending tenders for development work will be allotted by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and a company will be selected to prepare DPR for some development works. The work of repairing the main roads of New Gurugram with about Rs 150 crore is expected to start from next month. Tenders have been invited under this. These tenders will be allotted after a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. Apart from this, steps will be taken for drainage of rainwater, water and sewer purification plants, construction of flyovers. Rain drains will be constructed with Rs 84 crore
GMDA has planned to drain rainwater from Sector-68 to 75 and 112 to 115. About Rs 84 crore will be spent on this scheme. After the tender allocation, this work will be completed within two years. GMDA claims that after the construction of these rain drains, there will be no complaints related to waterlogging in New Gurugram. Under this, the work of inviting tenders will be started.
Elevated highway will be built on SPR with 620 crores
An elevated highway will be built on SPR to connect Dwarka Expressway and Gurugram-Sohna Highway with about Rs 620 crore. This scheme has been approved in the GMDA Authority meeting chaired by the Chief Minister in July. Now work will be started towards inviting tenders by preparing DPR.
CCTV cameras will be installed with Rs 422 crore
GMDA has planned to install 10 thousand CCTV cameras on the main roads. About Rs 422 crore will be spent on implementing this scheme. At present, 4000 CCTV cameras are installed. After the installation of new cameras, the main roads of the city will be monitored through CCTV cameras.
Flyovers will be built at two intersections
GMDA plans to build flyovers at Dadi Sati Chowk in New Gurugram and Ambedkar Chowk near Sector-51. About Rs 111 crore will be spent on the construction of these two flyovers. Work is expected to start from next month towards the preparation of DPR to invite tenders for their construction.
Tau Devi Lal Stadium will be upgraded with 634 crores
Rs 634 crore will be spent to renovate Tau Devi Lal Stadium. This scheme has been approved by the Haryana government. GMDA will now start work towards inviting tenders under DPR. There will be many types of sports competitions in it.
Water purification plants will be built with 325 crores
Water purification plants will be built in Chandu Budhera and Basai at a cost of about Rs 325 crore. Their capacity will be 100-100 million liters per day. At present, there are water purification plants of 570 MLD. When the demand for water increases in summer, 100 million liters of water has to be exploited.
