Gurugram News: Calling customer care to buy a refrigerator in Cyber Crime Police Station South area proved costly for the youth. The youth was duped of Rs 27,860 in the name of helping in online payment. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
In a complaint given to the police, Puneet Satwani, who lives in a society in the city, said that he called on Samsung India’s customer care toll free number to buy a refrigerator. After this, he received several calls. After this, on June 14, he received a call on his mobile, in which the caller said that he would help him in buying a refrigerator. After liking the refrigerator, Puneet asked him to send the payment link.
When he tried to make the payment after the link was sent, it was not possible. After this, Puneet called his friend Karan Relhan and sent him the link, and he made the payment of Rs 27,860. When the refrigerator did not reach him, Puneet called customer care and came to know that he had been cheated. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
