Gurugram Fire: Gurugram. A sudden fire broke out in an apartment on the 13th floor of Essel Tower on MG Road at 3 am on Monday night. A retired Army wing commander and four family members sleeping in the house were severely burnt in this.
There was a fire in this house.
A person living in the neighbourhood informed the fire brigade and ambulance about this at night, but negligence was observed on the part of both the departments. Neighbours themselves took the injured to the hospital in private vehicles. It is said that the fire broke out due to a short circuit.
Fire brigade gears up to save lives and property on Diwali
The fire brigade has made elaborate arrangements to prevent loss of lives and property during fire incidents on the festival of Diwali. Additional fire engines have been deployed at 10 places by the city’s fire stations, so that the fire can be controlled by reaching the spot as quickly as possible.
Fire brigade officials said that incidents of fire on Diwali often occur due to fireworks, short circuits and diyas lit in the open. Therefore, people should be cautious.
Take these measures to avoid fire incidents
- Parents should make children use fireworks carefully under their supervision
- Check electric appliances to avoid short circuits
- Avoid lighting diyas in the open
- Keep water and fire extinguishing equipment to extinguish fire
- Keep the helpline number of the fire department in your homes to extinguish fire
- Keep your children away from fire
Deployment will remain till the morning of November 2
Gulshan Kalra, Deputy Director of Haryana Fire and Emergency Services Department, said that to prevent any untoward incident on Diwali, all fire station officials of Gurugram have been instructed to deploy additional fire vehicles at various places in their respective areas from 8 am on October 29 to 8 am on November 2.
