Gurugram-Faridabad road: Due to lack of underpass/flyover at Ghata Mod, Bandhwadi and Pali Chowk (Faridabad) on Gurugram-Faridabad road, thousands of people are facing the problem of traffic jam every day. A consultant is to be hired to prepare the DPR of this project. Public Works Department, Gurugram has sent a reminder to Chandigarh Headquarters seeking permission to issue the tender.
Thousands of people come to Gurugram and Faridabad every day for jobs. In such a situation, there is a lot of vehicular pressure on Gurugram-Faridabad road in the morning and evening. Due to this, about 50 thousand drivers have to face traffic jams for hours every day. On Faridabad Road, there is maximum traffic jam at Ghata Mod, Badhwadi Red Light and Pali Chowk. In such a situation, the state government is working on a plan to make Gurugram-Faridabad road jam-free. For this, there is a plan to build underpasses/flyovers at all three places.
According to sources, Faridabad and Noida-Ghaziabad
In view of the project, DPR of Gurugram-Faridabad road will be prepared. So that there can be direct connectivity between Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida. Work is going on to prepare DPR on this project in Faridabad. It is to be made of six lanes. The Public Works Department is going to hire a consultant to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of this project so that the underpass/flyover can be constructed keeping in mind the future needs.
At present Gurugram-Faridabad road is of four lanes. According to the plan, both underpass and flyover can be built at Ghata Mod. Apart from this, provision of vehicle underpass can also be made at DLF Golf Course turn because here also there is a long queue of vehicles due to traffic red light. The option of underpass/flyover as per requirement can also be seen in Faridabad from Sikandarpur Chowk till Gurugram turn.
toll causes trouble
Bandhwadi Toll located on Gurugram-Faridabad State Highway causes problems to the drivers due to lack of fast tag. However, there is a plan to install fast tag here. For this, a proposal of about Rs 8 crore has been made and sent. Currently, inter-state vehicle drivers have to pay manual toll here. There is a toll plaza near Bandhwadi and about 80 thousand drivers pass here every day.
At present, toll tax is collected manually and through tags at toll plazas. In such a situation, this tag is not linked to the Fast Tag of NHAI. This creates a problem of traffic jam during peak hours. In the morning, the line of drivers coming from Faridabad stretches from Bandhwadi Toll till the front of the garbage disposal plant. In such a situation, people start coming from the wrong direction.
