A violent clash broke out between two gangs in Gurugram’s Bilaspur Industrial Area on Wednesday morning over a scrap loading and unloading contract at the Ansal Pioneer City project site. The confrontation involved heavy gunfire and extensive vehicle vandalism, creating panic in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, more than 10 rounds were fired during the half-hour ordeal that unfolded in broad daylight. Approximately six vehicles were severely damaged — some rammed into each other, others smashed with bricks and stones. Spent bullet casings were recovered from the scene, and several individuals from both sides reportedly sustained injuries.
The dispute originated after the contract held by Taoru resident Bijender Rathi was awarded to a different company. Tensions escalated rapidly when Rathi and associates from the new firm confronted each other at the project site, leading to the armed clash.
Gurugram Police responded swiftly after receiving alerts via Dial 112. By the time teams arrived, the attackers had fled, abandoning their vehicles. However, acting on leads, police apprehended nine accused — including the main suspect — within five hours of the incident.
Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar confirmed that multiple teams were deployed immediately after the report of firing at the Ansal Pioneer City project. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are not ruled out.
