Gurugram, May 13 (GNN) – The Enforcement Team of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) carried out a massive demolition operation in Farrukhnagar’s Khetaavas village, February 13, 2026. Approximately 800 square yards of an illegally constructed two-story building were brought down to rubble.
GMA’s Enforcement Team found that this building, located in facilitated development zones, flouted restrictions under the Punjab Unauthorised Road and Controlled Areas Improper Development Prevention Act, 1963, applicable in Haryana. The illegal edifice had disguised a school, an issue that fans raised multiple times in the locality. Directing the complaints raised in public consultation sessions, enforcement action was followed by officials.
Efforts to address this had not been one-off; the fortuitous building had previously faced demolition of its perimeter; however, the proprietor was hit with a confirmation notice compelling his redo of the structure. After repeated disregard of official orders, a survey was conducted on the location, leading to the comprehensive demolition of the illegal edifice by the team, led by GMDA.
The suppression campaign was carried out with the aid of the Pusa Parral police. Approximately 50 police personnel were stationed to uphold law and order, enhanced by the use of two JCB bulldozers for dismantling the brick structure.
Talking about the inspection, Gurugram’s nodal officer, Rakesh Sharan Chahal of GMDA, emphasized that all infractions related to illegal structures across controlled areas have been subjected to stringent actions by GMDA. Censure notices accompanied by reminders were issued to perpetrators, stressing upon the adherence to regulations. A call went out to the citizens: observe development norms, and voluntarily clear illegal constructions, warning that legal punitive measures will be taken against those unconstitutional cases.
