Amid rising pollution, soaring fuel prices and increasing road congestion, residents of Gurugram’s Sector‑69 have taken a proactive step toward environmental protection. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Save the Environment and Sustainable Living,” the members of Tulip Yellow Society have launched a dedicated car‑pool campaign.
To manage the effort efficiently, the society set up a special WhatsApp group for “Car Pool Awareness and Cooperation.” Society member Ankit Gaurav explained that participants share their daily routes and timings on the platform. Those traveling in the same direction or to the same office can then connect, opting to share a single vehicle instead of each using a separate car.
The benefits reported by participants include:

- Environmental and fuel savings: Fewer vehicles on the road lower carbon emissions, directly aiding environmental protection.

Social worker Engineer R.K. Jaiswal praised the initiative, stating that the model should extend beyond Tulip Yellow Society. He described it as a historic step toward stronger social collaboration and environmental responsibility. Adoption by other societies across Gurugram and the nation could collectively tackle traffic congestion and pollution.
The residents of Tulip Yellow Society have demonstrated that strong intent and small‑scale citizen actions can bring about significant change for the country and the environment.
