A man in the Badshahpur area of Gurugram has been arrested after a forensic autopsy proved he murdered his wife. For weeks, he tried to claim she died from drinking too much alcohol. But medical evidence told a much darker story. Doctors determined the woman died from strangulation rather than alcohol poisoning. This discovery shattered the suspect’s attempt to cover up the crime.
The incident traces back to 16 July. A woman named Talmai was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a slum settlement located near the Badshahpur vegetable market. Police arrived at the scene and took custody of the body to send it for a post-mortem examination. It wasn’t clear what happened at first.
Dinesh, the victim’s husband, told police that both he and his wife were frequent drinkers. He claimed that on the night of the death, Talmai had consumed an excessive amount of alcohol. He insisted that this overdrinking led directly to her passing. But the police didn’t buy his story. They waited for the medical results to confirm the cause of death.
The autopsy report provided the definitive answer. It explicitly stated the cause of death was strangulation. This medical fact turned a suspicious death into a clear homicide investigation. Once the authorities had the evidence, they brought Dinesh in for intensive questioning. He eventually confessed to the killing.
The motive was a common domestic dispute. According to police, the couple was under the influence of alcohol on the night of the incident. An argument broke out between the two regarding the preparation of dinner. In a sudden burst of anger, Dinesh strangled his wife to death. It’s a tragic outcome of a heated argument. He had fabricated the story about alcohol to escape legal consequences.
Dinesh is originally from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. He had been living in a rented slum dwelling in the area. The police have since arrested him to begin legal proceedings. Crime investigation continues as part of the formal legal process.
