Two passengers died and four others were seriously injured after an Alto car collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw on the Delhi-Alwar Highway in Nuh on Sunday morning, police said. The accident occurred around 8am near Akeda police station when the auto-rickshaw was traveling from Nuh toward Badkali Chowk. According to police, the car, allegedly being driven at high speed, struck the auto coming from the opposite direction. The impact severely damaged both vehicles—the auto veered into nearby bushes while the car came to rest in the roadside undergrowth.

Witnesses reported that local residents rushed to the scene and transported the injured to Nuh Medical College Hospital. Police stated one passenger was declared dead on arrival, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at PGI Rohtak. The deceased were identified as Dilshad, a resident of Shahpur Ghaghas village in Nagina, and Farhan, from Tai village. The four injured—auto driver Ali Mohammad of Mewli village, Taiyab of Tai village, and Natthu and Vikram, both residents of Madhya Pradesh—remain in critical condition.

A team from Akeda police station arrived shortly after the incident, confiscated the damaged vehicles, and began an investigation. Police confirmed the Alto driver fled immediately after the collision and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the driver and reconstruct the crash sequence. A case has been filed under sections 281 (rash driving on a public road) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.

Residents have called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such incidents. The area remains under tight security as authorities continue their inquiry.
