The administration is seen in action mode after receiving complaints of large-scale encroachment on the roadsides in Gurugram. Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MCG) have made joint efforts to resolve this issue. Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MCG) have given instructions to remove encroachment wherever it is in the city as soon as possible.
Two campaigns were run at Badshahpur Chowk
Enforcement teams of both the municipal corporation and GMDA, led by DTP GMDA RS Baath, recently carried out two drives at Badshahpur Chowk, which was a majorly encroached area. Around 50 illegal hawkers were removed in an area of 500 metres and footpaths, which were completely encroached by shopkeepers, were cleared for the benefit of pedestrians.
Extended parking area
Additionally, the parking area was also increased as the space was illegally occupied by vendors. Prior to the drive, three inspection visits were conducted by both the teams and warnings were issued to all the culprits to remove their illegal structures and encroachments.
Appreciation of efforts
The efforts made by the enforcement divisions at Badshahpur Chowk were highly appreciated by the people, who said that the travel time on this important route has come down from 30 minutes to 10 minutes.
Bulldozer will run in this area
On requests submitted by citizens, GMDA and MCG teams led by DTP GMDA cum Nodal Officer for Encroachment in Gurugram visited the four kilometre area from Badshahpur to Bhondsi Sohna and found that illegal sheds, advertisement boards, construction material shops, furniture shops, unauthorised restaurant extensions were developed on footpaths. Now all encroachers in the entire area have been directed to vacate the area.
