In South Haryana, a fresh political tug‑of‑war is emerging between Union Minister Rao Indrajit Singh and Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh. The clash revolves around the chairperson post of the District Grievance Committee.

Two separate lists were released by the Haryana government on May 14 and May 16, 2026. The first list, issued on May 14, appointed Rao Narbir Singh as chairperson for both Rewari and Jajjar districts. Two days later, on May 16, a second list altered the assignment, moving Rao Narbir Singh’s responsibility to the Hansi district.

Analysts suspect that the shift was influenced by pressure from Rao Indrajit Singh, who dominates the Rewari political landscape. The latest change has revived speculation that the two leaders are not on good terms.

The rivalry dates back to the previous year’s mayoral election in Mansesar Municipal Corporation. Rao Narbir Singh openly backed BJP candidate Sudarshan Lal, a sarpanch, while independent candidate Dr. Indirajeet Kaur Yadav claimed support from Rao Indrajit Singh. Rao Narbir Singh launched a strong critique of Dr. Indirajeet Kaur Yadav during the campaign. After Dr. Indirajeet Kaur Yadav won the mayoral post, Rao Indrajit Singh later induced her to join the BJP.

The renewed controversy over the District Grievance Committee chairmanship has brought those earlier confrontations back into focus, suggesting that underlying political rivalry persists.
