Gurugram, 20 June 2026 – The district administration has invoked Section 163 of the Benign National Security Scheme (BNSS) around all 18 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET‑UG 2026) centres in the city. The move, announced by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Uttam Singh, is aimed at ensuring a fair, cheat‑free examination for the roughly 6,800 candidates scheduled to sit the test on 21 June.
Security perimeter and crowd control
Each test centre now has a 200‑metre no‑assembly zone. Any gathering of people within this radius is strictly prohibited, with police teams deployed to enforce the ban. The administration has placed the entire city on “alert mode” given the sensitivity of the medical‑entrance examination.
Closure of coaching institutes and photo‑studio shops

All forms of electronic assistance are banned inside the examination halls. Candidates may not bring mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, earphones or calculators. To enforce this rule, high‑tech mobile jammers have been installed at each centre, effectively disabling any signal transmission within the premises.
Surveillance and biometric verification
Comprehensive CCTV coverage will monitor every movement inside and around the halls. In addition, every candidate must undergo biometric attestation before being allowed to enter the exam room. These steps are designed to eliminate any possibility of impersonation or digital tampering.
Staff background checks
All personnel assigned to exam duties—including outsourced agency staff—have already completed police verification. This pre‑emptive screening ensures that only trusted individuals are involved in exam administration.
Gate timing and entry restrictions
Examination rooms will open for candidates at 11:00 a.m. on 21 June. The test itself begins at 02:00 p.m., and the gates will be sealed at 01:30 p.m. No admissions will be entertained after that cut‑off, regardless of circumstances.
Free bus service for candidates
Following instructions from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the state will operate complimentary Haryana Roadways buses on 20 and 21 June. Candidates who present a valid NEET‑UG 2026 admit card can travel free of charge to any location within the state, mitigating any financial or logistical challenges in reaching the test centres.
