Unauthorised water connections to benefit from 40% relief
Noida’s water authority has launched a relief scheme offering significant discounts to residents with pending bills, valid from 1 May to 31 July. During this period, defaulters can claim reduced interest rates: 40% in May, 30% in June, and 20% in July. The scheme particularly benefits residents who have not paid water charges for months, including those with unauthorised connections. Over 90,000 water connections in Noida face pending payments, with many large societies, malls, and commercial buildings accumulating substantial debts. Officials urge prudent water usage during peak summer months. The scheme was notified in April following approval at a recent meeting after a three-year gap in similar measures. Residents can obtain details at Daftar centres in sectors 5, 37, and 39.
