District Magistrate Nishant Kumar Yadav has issued orders to keep liquor shops closed in the district to ensure peaceful completion of the voting process on October 5 and counting on October 8 in the district under the Assembly General Elections 2024.
In the orders issued by the District Magistrate, it has been said that all liquor shops in the district will remain closed 48 hours before the polling on October 05 i.e. from 6 pm on October 3 to 6 pm on October 5. Along with this, opening of all liquor shops in the district will also be prohibited on the day of counting on October 8.
The District Magistrate, exercising the powers conferred under Section 54 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, has directed the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (Excise) Gurugram (East/West) to ensure compliance of the above orders.
