After the farmers’ announcement of ‘Delhi Chalo’ on February 13, an alert has been issued in Gurugram. In view of the alert, arrangements are being made at Gurugram-Delhi, Gurugram-Jhajjar and Gurugram-Rewari borders.

High alert has been issued in Millennium City Gurugram regarding the announcement of farmers’ proposed ‘Delhi Chalo’ on 13th February. In view of the deployment of 50 companies of central paramilitary forces in Haryana and the alert amid impenetrable security arrangements, arrangements are being made at the Gurugram-Delhi, Gurugram-Jhajjar and Gurugram-Rewari borders. If needed, other arrangements will be made along with barricading.

District head of United Kisan Morcha, Santokh Singh, said that he will not participate in the Delhi march on Tuesday, 13 February. Will participate in the Bharat Bandh being called by the United Kisan Morcha on 16th February. During Bharat Bandh, farmers will continue to struggle for making MSP law as well as for farmers’ pension.

In such a situation, along with security, Gurugram Police is also monitoring social media, so that any wrong post does not spoil the atmosphere of the district. Apart from this, they are also keeping an eye on the farmer leaders.

Action will be taken against those who post inflammatory posts

Cyber police are monitoring the social media 24 hours regarding the farmers’ movement, so that the atmosphere does not get spoiled by any wrong post. Police are also using various tools so that those who post inflammatory posts can be identified and action can be taken against them.

Ban on mobile internet in seven districts of Haryana

At the same time, the Haryana government has banned mobile internet services and sending multiple SMS (messages) in seven districts on Saturday, ahead of the proposed ‘Delhi Chalo’ march of farmers on February 13. According to an official order, mobile internet services will remain suspended in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts from 6 am on February 11 to 11.30 pm on February 13, Bhasha reports. The decision to suspend mobile internet services, bulk SMS and all dongle services was taken as there were fears of disturbance of peace in view of the proposed march.

The order issued by TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Home Department), Haryana, said, “…through the request of the Additional Director General of Police, CID, Haryana, dated February 10, I have received information that farmers of some organizations are protesting against the march. “There is a possibility of tension, unrest, protests, damage to public and private property and disturbance of peace in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa districts in view of the call.”

Section 144 imposed in Panchkula

According to ANI, in view of the farmers’ announcement of ‘Delhi Chalo’ on February 13, Section 144 has been imposed in Panchkula, Haryana. Panchkula DCP Sumer Singh Pratap said that procession, demonstration, taking out march past on foot or with tractor trolley and other vehicles and carrying any kind of stick, rod or weapon has been banned.

Meanwhile, on the meeting with the leaders of farmers’ central unions, Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee General Secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher said in Amritsar, “On February 12, I will meet with Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal and Nityanand Rai regarding the demands of farmer unions.” The meeting will be held in Chandigarh at 5 pm.

It is noteworthy that, the United Kisan Morcha (Apolitical) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, along with more than 200 farmer unions, met on February 13 to put pressure on the Central Government on various demands, including making a law regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. ‘Delhi Chalo’ march has been announced with support.
