Two wanted Lawrence Bishnoi gang operatives died early Sunday in a fierce gunbattle with a combined Haryana STF and Delhi Police team in Bahadurgarh. Both men — Pravesh from Tibba Danasher and Himanshu from Jakhod Khera, both in Hisar district — carried ₹1 lakh rewards on their heads. They were prime suspects in the June 11 murder of gym operator Kapil in Hansi, booked under FIR 379 at City Hansi police station.
The joint operation launched late Saturday night acted on specific intelligence. Investigators had tracked the pair to Bahadurgarh where they were allegedly planning another serious crime while armed with sophisticated weapons. Police teams surrounded their location. The suspects responded with indiscriminate firing the moment they spotted officers. And the exchange turned lethal within minutes.
Bullets struck the bulletproof jackets of four police personnel — a detail that likely saved their lives. One officer sustained gunshot wounds and remains hospitalized in stable condition. Both criminals were rushed to hospital but declared dead during treatment. The encounter lasted barely minutes but left a clear mark.
Weapons and crucial evidence were recovered from the scene. The duo faced charges under multiple Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections including 103(1), 109(1), 3(5), 61(2)(A) plus Arms Act provisions 25/54/59. A formal investigation is underway following standard legal procedure. But the message from police leadership was unmistakable.
DGP Ajay Singhal linked the operation to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s stated zero-tolerance stance against organized crime. He praised the teams for what he called exceptional courage and professional restraint. It’s worth noting he emphasized police safety as a top priority moving forward. “Every decisive action against gang networks will continue,” he said.
Legal proceedings continue. The injured officer’s recovery will be monitored. Haryana police have signaled more such operations against gang networks are planned.
