Gurugram. Air pollution has started increasing once again in the Millennium City. Pollution was more on Sunday as compared to the last three days. The AQI was 247 at 7 am, which increased to 253 by 12 noon. Doctors have cautioned the elderly along with asthma patients from taking a walk in the morning and evening and the youth from running.

Doctors have advised to avoid exercising in the open sky. The AQI was 198 in Faridabad till 12 noon and AQI was 267 near the Indira Gandhi International Airport located on the Delhi border. The pollution gauge installed near the Mini Secretariat recorded an AQI of 198, and the AQI near Gwal Pahari recorded an AQI of 187. Dr. Naveen Kumar, a senior physician with the Health Department, said that asthma patients are most at risk from pollution. If a patient is having difficulty breathing and is unable to find relief, they are at risk of a heart attack. He advised caution when venturing outside the home. Remember to wear a mask whenever you go out.

These patients account for the largest number of patients in the OPD these days, with over 100 patients arriving daily, suffering from problems due to pollution. Poonam Goyal, a senior ophthalmologist at the Civil Hospital, says that the majority of patients in the OPD are complaining of eye irritation and itching caused by pollution. She reported that around 150 patients are attending, including children, young people, and the elderly.
