Under the new structure, four units will be stationed within the city’s zones—North, West, South and Manesar. A fifth unit will operate under the office of the Police Commissioner in Gurugram’s main headquarters, ready to be dispatched anywhere in the district on short notice. Each unit will be led by an officer of ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) rank, who will act as the Company Commander. An Inspector‑rank officer will serve as the Assistant Commander, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and coordination. This leadership structure ensures that each company has a clear chain of command, enabling swift decision‑making during critical incidents.
The primary mandate of these companies is to provide immediate response to any form of public disorder, including riots, demonstrations, crowd control, communal unrest, VIP protection, and disaster management. Trained and organised, the teams are expected to enhance Gurugram Police’s ability to maintain public safety and order across the city.
Gurugram Police also disclosed plans to establish an additional five law‑and‑order companies in the near future.
