Gurugram News: Upgradation of Gurgaon railway station will start from this month

The upgradation of Gurgaon railway station will take place in two phases. The construction of the first phase will cost Rs 295 crore. At the same time, approximately the same amount is expected to be spent in the second phase also. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Gurgaon Railway Station was included in the list of upgrades along with 500 stations in the country in the year 2023 by the Railways. On February 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid its foundation stone through virtual medium.

Eight renowned companies of the country have been shortlisted for Gurgaon railway station. The name of the company doing upgradation for financial bid will be finalized and the construction work will be allotted to it. The building of Gurgaon Railway Station will be nine storeyed, in which six floors will be used for commercial activities and railway offices etc. will be built on three floors.

These facilities will be available at Gurgaon Railway Station

The station will be upgraded to the standards of Platinum Rating of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Separate gates will be made for entry and exit at Gurgaon railway station. Multilevel parking will be built here, in which a basement, stilt and four-storey parking will be constructed. There is a plan to install 20 lifts and 10 escalators as per world class facilities. Food court and gallery will be built in the station premises.
