Gurugram news: People in 16 sectors of New Gurugram are going to get relief from the sewer problem. Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority is going to get a 23 km long master sewer line laid from Sector 99 to 115. The target is to complete the project worth about 41.62 crores in two years.
With the start of Dwarka Expressway in Cyber City, new sectors are developing rapidly. In this, societies are being settled from Sector 68 to 95 and Sector 99-115. At the same time, builders are also insisting on completing their projects. In such a situation, the population in these sectors is increasing rapidly. These centers were earlier developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority.
Earlier, due to low population in these sectors, HSVP has not fully developed the network of sewer lines in the entire area. Sewer lines are incomplete at many places in between and the network of master line is also incomplete. In such a situation, now people have started facing problems. In many places, sewer water is being poured in open spaces. At the same time, there is no network of sewer line from Sector 104 to 115.
Now GMDA has the responsibility of master sewer and water line in the sectors of New Gurugram. In such a situation, GMDA has started improving these facilities. Under this, there is a plan to lay master sewer line from Sector 99 to 115. GMDA is going to lay a master sewer line of about 23 kilometers. According to the plan, the sewer lines of the sectors will be connected to the main sewer line. This will provide relief from the problem of sewer overflow and sewer blockage in these sectors. GMDA has issued a tender to complete the project of Rs 41.62 crore. Under this, different types of pipes will be laid and the entire sewer network will be developed keeping in view the future needs.
STP to be built in Sector 107
GMDA will connect the master sewer line to be laid from Sector 99 to 115 to the sewer purification plant to be built in Sector 107. For this, two STPs of 100 MLD are to be constructed in two phases in Sector 107. This project has been approved in the board meeting of GMDA. About Rs 500 crore will be spent on this. STP is to be constructed for sewage treatment of sectors 81 to 115 from the STP of Sector-107. According to GMDA, the estimated discharge from water supply to sectors 81 to 115 will be 384 MLD. If there is 80 percent drinking water supply, then the sewage production will be 307 MLD. According to the plan prepared by IIT Roorkee, a 100 MLD STP is to be built in the first phase. GMDA is completing the process related to issuing tenders.
