Gurugram News: Gurugram is on police remand. Health Minister Arti Rao’s attitude has now become strict in the case of sexual harassment of an air hostess at Medanta Hospital in Sector-38. She has issued a notice to Medanta Hospital and sought a reply within five working days.
On the directions of Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao, Civil Surgeon and Co-convener, District Registration Authority Gurugram Dr. Alka Singh has issued a show cause notice to the Medical Director of Medanta Hospital. In the notice issued, the Medanta Hospital management has been directed to submit its reply within five working days under Section 40 of the CEA Act (2010).
In the notice, the hospital management has been told that in the said case, as per the charter of patient’s rights and responsibilities, under section 6 of the CEA Act, confidentiality, human dignity and privacy have to be followed during treatment and under section 7, the presence of a female person is ensured by a male doctor during the physical examination of a female patient. In such a situation, both the sections have been violated by the establishment in the said case. It is noteworthy that on April 05, an air hostess from West Bengal was admitted to Medanta Hospital. According to the complaint given to the police, on April 06, machine technician Deepak digitally raped her when she was on the ventilator. The victim says that she was aware of everything but she was unable to do anything in a semi-conscious state. In this case, after being discharged on April 13, she told her husband about the incident. After this, the husband complained to the police. After that the accused Deepak was arrested. The accused is currently on police remand.
