Punhana. Villagers of Khedla-Punhana village of the subdivision have accused two depot holders of the village of giving less ration. Villagers said that the depot holder commits fraud in giving ration and forcibly makes them put their thumb impression on the machine. When they protest, he misbehaves with them and drives them away. Villagers have complained about both the depot holders to the Chief Minister through the CM window.
Villagers Junaid, Javed, Anjum, Iqbal, Muddin Shaukeen, Anees etc. told that in village Khedla-Punhana, Anjum and Rahul are two different depot holders, who in collusion with each other give less ration to all the villagers. Villagers told that both the depot holders give 5 kg less ration to each family and sugar which is available at the rate of Rs. 13.50 per kg is also sold at Rs. 20 to Rs. 25 per kg. Apart from this, mustard oil which is available at Rs. 20 per litre is also sold at Rs. 35 per litre. They told that when the villagers protest, the depot holders often quarrel with them and threaten to stop the ration. They allege that many times the depot holders make them put their thumb impression in the machine, but after getting the thumb impression, they do not give them ration by making excuses and usurp their ration. Villagers have demanded from the Chief Minister of the state Naib Singh Saini that action should be taken against both the depot holders and their license should be cancelled.
