Gurugram. Cyber thugs duped a young man of Ashok Vihar face Rs 21 lakh on the pretext of giving him an online part time job.
This money was deposited from him several times. When asked for the money back, refused to give it. After this, the victim registered a case in the cyber police station West.
Anuj Kaushik, a resident of Ashok Vihar Face, told the Cyber West police station that on August 7, a WhatsApp message was received from a person. In which it was said to give him online part-time job for earning big money. The thugs also gave him some money first to lure him into their trap.
Through WhatsApp, he was added to a group on the Telegram app. Here, in the name of liking the video on YouTube and subscribing to the channel, one hundred and fifty rupees were given for the first one or two days. After this, lakhs of rupees were deposited from him in the name of investment. When he asked for the money back, he was asked to deposit more money. On realizing the fraud, the victim lodged a case in the police station. He said that a total of Rs 21 lakh was swindled from him.
