Bandhwadi toll located on Gurugram-Faridabad State Highway will soon function on the lines of toll plazas of NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). The state government has approved the plan to install Fastag on Bandhwadi toll. If the Election Commission approves, the tender for its installation will be issued. About Rs 6.50 crore will be spent on this.
There is a toll plaza near Bandhwadi on Gurugram-Faridabad road and about 80 drivers pass here every day. Currently, toll tax is collected at toll plazas through manual and local tags. In such a situation, NHAI’s Fastag does not work on toll. In such a situation, drivers from other states have to pay manual toll at Bandhwadi toll plaza. Some people use monthly passes or local tags. This creates a problem of traffic jam during peak hours. In the morning, drivers coming from Faridabad form a queue from Bandhwadi Toll to the garbage disposal plant. In such a situation, people start coming from the wrong direction.
The department had sent it for approval
On the demand of the people, the Public Works Department had prepared a plan to install Fastag system at toll plazas and sent it to the state government in December last year for administrative approval. Recently the state government has approved this scheme. Now in view of the Lok Sabha elections, the model code of conduct has been imposed. In such a situation, the department will take approval from the Election Commission before issuing the tender. If approval is given, a tender will be issued for installation of Fastag equipment. Work will be done to connect this toll plaza with NHAI’s Fastag system. Under this, the server of Bandhwadi toll will be connected to the server of NHAI.
That’s why there is jam
There is more traffic of local people on Gurugram-Faridabad road. Apart from this, there is also discount on toll for the people of nearby villages. In such a situation, when toll was made, facilities were provided accordingly. Now Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been built. Apart from this, there are NHAI tolls on Gurugram-Jaipur and Delhi-Mathura highways. Many times, due to traffic jam in Delhi, drivers go to Noida via Gurugram-Faridabad. In such a situation, due to lack of Fastag in Bandhwadi, they face problems and face traffic jams. Collection of toll tax through cash and Paytm at Bandhwadi toll is another major reason for the jam. At the same time, the vehicle slips are scanned in the return journey.
