Gurugram was once again shaken by the echoes of gang warfare. Late last night in Kanhai village, unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire indiscriminately at the home of Saurabh Yadav, the event manager for popular Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria. In the attack, Constable Kulvinder, who was providing security to Saurabh, sustained two gunshot wounds.
He has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in serious condition.
According to information received, the attack occurred around midnight. Two masked assailants arrived on a motorcycle and began firing at Saurabh Yadav’s residence. The sudden gunfire caused panic in the area. When the PSO (Personal Security Officer) assigned to protect Saurabh Yadav attempted to retaliate, the attackers directly fired upon him.
Saurabh Yadav told police that he had been receiving continuous threats from notorious gangster Deepak Nandal for some time. The dispute is believed to stem from the promotion and financial transactions related to singer Fazilpuria’s recent hit song ‘Lari Lari’. The gangster had previously warned Saurabh to expect consequences.
Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police officers and a SWAT team arrived at the scene. Police recovered several empty bullet casings from the location. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby homes and roads to identify the attackers. A heavy police force has been deployed in Kanhai village and surrounding areas.
Based on Saurabh Yadav’s statement, police have registered a case against gangster Deepak Nandal and unidentified assailants under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and the Arms Act.
