Gurugram Big news! Approval given for construction of service lanes on both sides of Dwarka Expressway

Gurugram latest news:  The Prime Minister’s Office has made it clear that the people of Gurugram will get the gift of Dwarka Expressway before the code of conduct for the general elections. Also, to provide convenience to the local people, on Monday the High Power Work Allotment Committee of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal approved a 15 km long service road. After approval from this committee for the GMDA project, the further process for construction can be started.

However, construction of service lane will take three to four months. On the other hand, NHAI has completely banned the illegal use of expressway through drains and unpaved roads on footpaths. Also, there are preparations for fencing at these places.

Officials claim that due to lack of signage and formal cuts, these roads can cause major accidents. In such a situation, it is very important to stop its use. This has increased the problems of high rise societies adjacent to the expressway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift Dwarka Expressway to the public on March 11. In such a situation, NHAI officials are constantly busy visiting the expressway. The officials are trying to ensure that there is no problem of illegal approach road or connectivity till the Prime Minister’s program to be organized on March 11.

However, the official claim is that these efforts are being made to prevent accidents on the expressway. This is the reason that in order to provide connectivity to the nearby people, NHAI has corresponded several times to the government to construct a service road here as soon as possible. Its approval was received on Monday from the high-powered special committee of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). In this, a total of 15 kilometers of service road has been approved in Gurugram part for Dwarka Expressway.

This will provide relief to the society residents. Out of the total 29.5 km expressway, 19 km passes through Gurugram. The 19 kilometer stretch of Dwarka Expressway, which is being built at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore in Gurugram area, will be dedicated to the public. The patch work of about nine kilometers in Delhi is likely to be completed by the month of June.

Delhi-Gurugram will get relief from Dwarka Expressway

The expressway is divided into four parts. The first part connects Shiv Murti near Mahipalpur to Dwarka. The other connects Dwarka Urban Extension Road (UER) to Bajghera. The third part is from Bajghera to Basai Rail Overbridge (Delhi-Haryana Border).

The fourth package is from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. It includes a cloverleaf interchange on the part of the highway falling in Gurugram, it will connect the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48) and the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) near Kherki Daula.

Approval has been given for the construction of service lanes on both sides of Dwarka Expressway. This construction will be done at a cost of about Rs 100 crore. Before this, to stop illegal cuts, we will visit with NHAI officials and complete the fencing process. -Arun Kumar Dhankhar, Superintending Engineer, GMDA
