If you are fond of keeping a dog at home, then first know about the banned species of dogs, because the Central Government has directed the state governments to ban the sale and breeding of 23 species of dangerous dogs. In such a situation, if a dog of a dangerous breed is kept, then registration in Gurugram Municipal Corporation may also get stuck.
However, at present these orders have not reached the corporation, but corporation officials say that the orders will be followed. Chief Medical Officer of Municipal Corporation, Dr. Ashish Singla said that till now 1500 pet dogs have been registered in Gurugram Municipal Corporation. Dogs of dangerous breeds will not be registered.
It is necessary to register the dog
Every dog owner is required to register the dog with the corporation. There is a rule to wear a net cap on the mouth while taking the dog to a public place and to carry a shit bag while taking the dog for a walk. The dog registration fee in the corporation is Rs 500. After one year, the dog’s registration can be renewed by paying a fee of Rs 250.
The matter had reached the court
On August 11, 2022, a domestic helper was bitten by a dog of Dogo Argentino breed in Civil Lines area. The police had registered a case on the complaint of the domestic help. Apart from this, an advocate living in Civil Lines also filed a case in the court in this matter. After this, the victim Munni filed a case in the consumer forum. Later this matter reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Ban imposed on these dangerous species
Pitbull Terriers, Tosa Inu, American Staffordshire Terrier, Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, American Bulldog, Boerboel, Kangal, Tarnjack, Bandog, Sarplaninac, Japanese Tosa, Akita, Mastiffs, Ratweiler, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Canario, Akbash and Moscow Guard Dog, Wolf Dog and German Shepherd are included in the dreaded species.
