Air Pollution Emergency : Faridabad-Gurugram’s AQI crosses 500, doctors issue warning

Faridabad-Gurugram AQI updates: The air in Haryana has turned toxic today. Faridabad’s AQI reached dangerous levels of 534 and Gurugram’s 435. Complaints of eye irritation, shortness of breath, and coughing have increased. The air quality in many cities has reached the poor to severe category. Experts have advised limiting outdoor activities and wearing masks.

The air in several cities of Haryana, including Gurugram and Faridabad, has turned toxic today. It feels as if the entire area is shrouded in a blanket of smoke. People emerged early in the morning and felt a burning sensation in their eyes and difficulty breathing. In many places, the air is so polluted that even going outside has become risky.

The air is becoming toxic
In Sector 56 and Sector 65 of Gurugram, the AQI was recorded at 435 today, which falls in the hazardous category. The city’s average AQI is also 413, meaning the air quality is extremely worrying. Such levels of pollution have a direct impact on health, especially for children, the elderly, and asthma patients.

The situation in Faridabad is worse than Gurugram.

The situation in Faridabad is even worse than Gurugram. The average AQI here today was recorded at 534, which is considered above the hazardous level. While the level is slightly lower in some areas, the situation remains serious. For example, Sector 16A recorded an AQI of 513, while Sector 30 recorded a PM2.5 level of 175. The air in the city is so polluted that people are only wearing masks when going out. Many are complaining of chest irritation, cough, and sore throat.

People are worried about the rising AQI.
The AQI in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, was 176 today, slightly better than other areas, but still falls in the poor category. The situation in other cities of Haryana is also not satisfactory. Rohtak recorded an AQI of 197, Panipat 163, Hisar 173, and Sohna 184. All these figures indicate that air quality is continuously deteriorating, and people are worried about the effects of pollution.

Stay Outdoors as Little as Possible
The most alarming situation is in Bahadurgarh, where the AQI reached 466. Dharuhera also has poor air quality, with an AQI of 345. These levels are harmful even for normal people, and doctors are advising to minimize outdoor exposure to such air.

Overall, the air in many cities of Haryana is no longer breathable today. The rising pollution is causing people constant distress, and it poses a serious threat to their health. Experts recommend that you avoid leaving your home during these times, wear a mask, and only go out when necessary. This air quality could raise further concerns in the coming days.
