A case has come to light of a young man who had gone to pick up his angry wife from her maternal home, shooting his own leg.
The woman alleged that her husband was threatening to implicate her maternal family by shooting himself in the leg. This information was given to Sector-53 police station. On the basis of the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the husband and started investigation.
According to the police, Sandeep, a resident of Tawadu, was married to Reena, a resident of Indira Colony-2. There was a dispute going on between the husband and wife for a long time due to which Reena was living in her maternal house since about five months ago.
Reena told the police that on October 14, her husband Sandeep came to her parents’ house and asked her to go home, but Reena refused to go along. It is alleged that during this time Sandeep threatened him that he had brought weapons with him. If she doesn’t go home with him, he will shoot himself and implicate her parents.
Even after this, when Reena did not agree to go along, Sandeep shot her in the leg with a country-made pistol. He informed the police about this. Police reached the spot and admitted Sandeep to Sector-10 hospital. On the basis of Reena’s complaint, Sector-53 police station registered a case under sections 285, 506 of IPC and 25(1-B)(A), 27(1) Arms Act. Police say that the matter is being investigated. The place from where the accused brought the weapon is also being investigated.
