695 happy cards have arrived at Gurugram bus depot. More than three thousand people from the district have applied for Happy Card. There is a possibility that after the code of conduct of Lok Sabha elections, eligible families with the card will get the facility to travel free in roadways buses.

The state government has started a scheme to provide free travel facility in roadways buses to needy families with annual income less than Rs 1 lakh. Under the Happy Card Scheme, eligible families will be able to travel one thousand kilometers in a year free of cost in roadways buses. Happy card is being uploaded in the e-ticketing machine.
When the cards are activated, the operators will prepare zero fare tickets for the passengers. Drivers and conductors have also been informed in this regard by the department.
Application being made online
To avail the benefits of the scheme, first of all you have to go to the Common Service Center (CSC) and apply online. After registration, a message will come on the applicant’s mobile number. Happy Card can be collected on the basis of registration number at the bus stand.
For this the eligible person will have to pay a fee of Rs 50. The application form is scrutinized by the Haryana Transport Department. Happy cards are being made for families who fulfill the prescribed rules.
