Gurugram Crime Branch Sector 10 arrested YouTuber Bobby Kataria on Monday evening on charges of human trafficking. A case was registered against him on Monday morning itself on the complaint of Arun Kumar, a resident of Gopalganj in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The police will present Bobby in the court on Tuesday morning and take him on remand for questioning. He is accused of misleading the youth.
Crime Branch Sector 10 has arrested YouTuber Bobby Kataria on Monday evening on charges of human trafficking and cheating the youth of the country by sending them to other countries in the name of jobs. A case was registered against him on Monday morning itself on the complaint of Arun Kumar, a resident of Gopalganj in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The police will present Bobby in the court on Tuesday morning and take him on remand for questioning.
Fatehpur resident Arun Kumar said in the complaint lodged at Bajgheda police station that he and his friend Manish Tomar, resident of Dholana, Hapur, were unemployed. Both of them had seen Bobby Kataria on Instagram. It was revealed on his YouTube channel that he had got a job in another country. When contacted on the mobile number, Bobby called both of them to his office located in Sector 109 Constant One Mall.
Transfer to the account of a person named Ankit Shaukeen
Manish met Bobby on 10th January and Arun Kumar met Bobby on 1st February 2024. After telling Arun to get a job in Dubai, he first took two thousand rupees in the name of registration. After this, on Bobby’s request, one lakh rupees were transferred to his account and one lakh rupees were transferred to the account of a person named Ankit Shaukeen. Bobby sent the ticket to Laos through agent Shaukeen’s WhatsApp. On March 28, as per Bobby’s advice, Arun got 50 thousand rupees transferred in dollars at the airport and boarded the flight to Laos.
Both of them were beaten and their passports were snatched away.
Bobby also took about Rs 2.5 lakh from Manish. Both Arun and Manish went to Laos together. They met a man named Abhi at the airport in Laos. He introduced himself as Bobby’s friend and a Pakistani agent. The next day Abhi took him to Navatui by train. Ankit Shokeen and Nitish Sharma met here. Both were taken to an unnamed Chinese company. Both of them were beaten inside the company and their passports were snatched away. Forced to commit cyber fraud with Americans.
Kataria arrested from his office
Here they came to know that about 150 Indians had already been brought to that company through human trafficking. There were women also among them. Bobby had sent many people here with the promise of jobs. Arun and Manish worked for two days. After this both of them ran away and reached the Indian Embassy. After taking help here, both of them returned to India. After the complaint, Sector 10 Crime Branch took action and arrested Bobby Kataria from his office in the evening. The Crime Branch itself has confirmed his arrest. Many more cases may be exposed during interrogation during remand.
Bobby Kataria has been associated with controversies
On August 13, 2022, a video of Bobby Kataria was circulated on the internet media. In this he was seen smoking a cigarette in SpiceJet. A complaint was lodged against Bobby at the IGI Airport police station on behalf of Spice Jet.
On September 11, 2022, a video of him publicly stopping traffic on the road, drinking alcohol and misbehaving with the police was circulated on the internet media. In the video, he was seen sitting at a table in the middle of the road and drinking alcohol. This video was from Kimadi Road of Cantt Kotwali area of Dehradun. In the video, Bobby was also seen firing the bullet in a dangerous manner after drinking alcohol. After this video, Dehradun Police registered a case and issued a property attachment notice at his house and also announced a reward of Rs 25,000.
Six years ago, Bobby Kataria was arrested by Gurugram Police on charges of demanding extortion, threatening to kill and other charges.
