JEs of Electricity Corporation arrested : Anti Corruption Bureau team has arrested two JEs of Electricity Corporation in two separate bribery cases in Farrukhnagar area. A JE had asked for Rs 45,000 in the name of installing a meter at the complainant’s shop. Whereas when the transformer installed on the farm of the second complainant developed a fault, he had transferred Rs 29,000 online to his phone in lieu of installing another transformer.
A case has been registered by ACB under the Corruption Act. Both the accused will be presented in the court on Saturday.
Anti Corruption Bureau spokesperson said that JE Anil of Electricity Corporation was demanding Rs 45 thousand in the name of installing a meter at the complainant’s shop. After receiving the complaint and getting sufficient evidence, the accused JE was arrested.
Whereas Rajbir JE had demanded Rs 29 thousand from the complaining farmer to replace the faulty transformer installed on his farm. The complainant also transferred Rs 29,000 to his phone. Both the accused are being arrested and interrogated.
A case has been registered against both the JEs of the Electricity Corporation under the Corruption Act. On Saturday, he will be produced in the court and taken on police remand. – Chandra Mohan, Superintendent of Police, ACB Gurugram.
