Travel on Delhi-Jaipur Highway and Gurugram-Sohna Highway will become expensive

For cars and jeeps leaving from Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram, the regular toll fee will be Rs 85 instead of Rs 80. For mini bus type vehicles, only Rs 120 will have to be paid per trip instead of Rs 120. Large commercial vehicles (trucks, buses and vehicles above this) will be charged Rs 250 per trip instead of Rs 245.

Passing through National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) toll plazas will become more expensive. The new rates will be applicable on all toll plazas from 12 midnight on Monday. The new rates were to be implemented from April 1, but it was postponed for a few days.

There is a lot of anger among the people due to the increase in toll. Especially the people troubled by Kherki Daula toll plaza say that first attention should have been paid to increasing the facilities. There is a lot of pressure of vehicles on both sides during peak hours every day.

Gurugram-Sohna Highway Toll Plaza in front of Village Ghamroj

The Delhi-Jaipur Highway and Gurugram-Sohna Highway pass through the populated areas of the district. The toll plaza of Delhi-Jaipur Highway is in Kherki Daula while the toll plaza of Gurugram-Sohna Highway is in front of Village Ghamroj. While an average of 80 thousand vehicles pass through Kherki Daula Toll Plaza, an average of about 50 thousand vehicles pass through Ghamroj Toll Plaza every day.

Most of the vehicles passing through both the toll plazas are local or belong to Delhi-NCR. Due to this, people have always opposed the increase in toll rates. They are protesting this time too. The demand to remove Kherki Daula Toll Plaza has been going on for years. People are pained that instead of removing it, the toll rates are being increased every year.

Manesar industrial area ruined due to toll plaza

Manesar residents Harjeet Singh and Jaishankar Singh say that IMT Manesar industrial area has been ruined due to toll plaza. Not only this, Sector-37, Sector-34, Sector-35, Basai and Kadipur industrial areas have been ruined but no one is listening. It seems that in view of the elections, the new rates were not implemented from April 1. New rates are being implemented as soon as the voting is over.

Prabhudayal, a resident of Sector-40, works in an automobile company operating in IMT Manesar. He says that even after paying toll every morning and evening, one has to bear the traffic pressure. This time it seemed that new rates would not be implemented due to elections but the hopes were dashed. It seems as if they were waiting for the voting to be over.
