Gurugram. The police is registering an FIR for the theft of a bike of a housekeeping employee at the house of a woman judge in Sohna Court, Gurugram, after one and a half months.

Let us tell you that on February 17, the bike was stolen from outside the youth’s house in Lakhuwas. After giving a complaint on February 18, the police have now registered a case of bike theft in the police station on April 7. The complainant accused the police of negligence.

Manjeet, a resident of Lakhuwas village, said that he works at the house of a woman judge in Sohna court. He is a permanent employee. He bought a Yamaha bike in 2023. After returning from duty on the night of February 17, he parked his bike outside the house. When he looked at 8 am on February 18, the bike was not found. On this, he reached Sohna city police station on the same day. Here he was given the number of the IO. He spoke to the IO on the phone. He was out at that time.

He was told to give his complaint to the clerk of the police station. Manjeet gave his written complaint and documents. After a few days he went to the police station to know the status of the case but the FIR had not been registered. When he spoke to the IO on phone again, he kept saying “today-tomorrow-today”. When the FIR was not registered even after ten days, Manjeet informed the judge madam about it.

The judge called the SHO and asked him to register a case

On Manjeet’s complaint, the lady judge called the Sohna city police station in-charge and asked him to register the case. Despite this, the police station in-charge did not take it seriously. Manjeet told that whenever the police personnel of the police station were called, the phone was often not picked up. They used to give the reason of being busy. He also visited the police station five times to get the case registered. Finally, after one and a half months, a case was registered on his complaint in April.

I was busy with personal work so I could not lodge a complaint

Firstly, Sohna city police station did not register an FIR on the complaint of the complainant for one and a half months. Secondly, when they wrote the FIR, it was also written on behalf of the complainant that after the bike was stolen, he got busy in some personal work, due to which he could not lodge the complaint. They also showed the date of complaint as 7th April.

Three policemen including the station in-charge were suspended for delay in filing FIR

Recently, on receiving a complaint of laxity in filing an FIR for bike theft, the Police Commissioner had suspended the IMT Manesar police station in-charge, IO and clerk. The complainant had said that he was made to wait for several days at the police station. On this, the Police Commissioner had sent a message by taking immediate action.
