Gurugram Cyber Police has exposed an illegal call center. This center was running in a flat of a residential society in Sohna. These people were doing betting through online applications. Police has arrested a total of nine people from this residential flat. Police has recovered 38 mobile phones, 25, 22 ATMs and three laptops from these people. A complaint has been filed against these people in the Cyber Crime Station.
Online betting in illegal call center
The police received information that some people are running an illegal call center in GLS Home Society, Sohna. When it was found out, it was found that the accused is making people bet through this call center. He makes people bet through online gambling app and then transfers the money to the bank account. On getting information about this, Cyber Crime ACP Priyanshu Dewan formed a special team.
Who are the accused caught?
The police raided and nine people were caught red-handed with so much stuff. All the accused were arrested by the police. The identity of the arrested people is as follows.
Police said that the arrested accused have been identified as Manish and Ajay, residents of Sonipat, Toshan Kumar of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, Mohit Gera, Rakesh, Anmol Gillhotra and Sanyam Mehta, residents of Fatehabad, Bablu, resident of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh and Sagar, resident of Hisar district.
FIR registered
Police said that an FIR has been registered against the accused at Cyber Crime Police Station, West under Section 318(4) of BNS, Gambling Act and IT Act. During police interrogation, it was found that accused Sagar handles the work of the call center and has employed the other accused.
The accused used to create IDs and give them to people and collect money from them and make them play online games/betting through online apps.
