Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) has crossed a significant milestone in its commercial operations journey. The airport has received security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), marking the end of the longest wait for Delhi-NCR residents.
The airport management has now shifted flight operations preparations to top gear. According to official sources, high-level meetings with various airlines are scheduled to take place within the next seven days. These meetings will finalize routes and airfare pricing, with ticket bookings expected to open as soon as rates are determined.
If everything proceeds as planned, the first commercial flight from Noida International Airport could take off within just 30 days of ticket booking commencement. Runway, terminal, and passenger facilities inside the airport are nearly complete.
A spokesperson from Yamuna International Airport Private Limited confirmed that all systems and staff are now in “ready-to-fly” mode. The initial phase will primarily feature budget airlines, with ongoing discussions in final stages including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express.
Travelers can expect several benefits from the new airport. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi will see reduced passenger pressure and flight delays. The airport will serve as a boon for passengers from Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and districts in western Uttar Pradesh including Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra.
Budget-conscious travelers may also benefit from attractive discounts and economical fares as airlines promote new routes during the initial phase. Noida International Airport is poised to be a game-changer not just for Uttar Pradesh but for India’s aviation sector as a whole.
